As we go into the harder months fishing wise, results reflect the difficult times ahead. This is the time when Ramsey Angling bring in the 18cm rule of one undersize fish to count to prevent the dreaded blank. With clear skies and a flat calm sea, reports along the beach proved the new rule worked with no sign of any sizeable showing. Towards the end a couple of sizeable fish fell to Orry Turner, George Dugdale and John Senogles and it seemed it was going to be a close outcome until all anglers met at the weigh-in. Mark Quirk arrived at the scales from the north pier with an impressive catch of twenty fish, the majority being whiting and rockling, but did include the only dogfish caught for a added pool win. Second place went to Johnny Green, who took a pool winning coalie off the south pier, and third spot went to a tie between Senogles and Mark Longwith, the top five completed by Orry Turner.
The next comp will be in a fortnights time , on the 19th, again fishing 6.00-10.00pm.
